Our current research is focused on the optoelectronic and photophysical properties of semiconductor and metal nanoparticles. We combine ensemble average fluorescence techniques with single particle fluorescence microscopy to investigate their photoluminescence properties. Our home-built fluorescence microscope is based on an inverted Nikon microscope. The ultimate goal of our group is to address various chemical and biological problems using these nanoparticles as fluorescent probe.
